Public guests to be invited to witness Princess Charlotte's baptism

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have invited members of the public to see the young Princess Charlotte's christening on Sunday, local media reported on Monday.

The baptism is to be held outside St. Mary Magdalene Church, Sandringham, Norfolk on Sunday, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have asked for the paddock outside the church to be opened so that invited guests can share in the Princess' baptism there.

"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be pleased to welcome well-wishers into the paddock outside the church," announced Kensington Palace.

The christening of Princess Charlotte's brother Prince George two years ago in the Chapel Royal at St. James' Palace was not open to the public.

Royal family members, including the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince George, and Michael and Carole Middleton are expected to attend the service.

Princess Charlotte, born on May 2, is the fourth in line to the British throne, behind Prince George, her father William and grandfather Prince Charles. Endit
