4 killed as militants' hideout raided in East Pakistan

Xinhua, June 29, 2015 Adjust font size:

At least four suspected terrorists including a suicide bomber were killed and six others injured when law enforcement agencies raided a hideout of suspected militants in Pakistan's east city of Lahore in the wee hours of Monday morning, local media reported.

Geo TV said that in a joint operation, the police and intelligence agencies raided an under-construction house, believed to be a hideout of suspected militants at the outskirts of Lahore city, the capital of the country's east Punjab province.

The operation was launched acting on a tip-off of presence of the high profiled workers of an outlawed militant organization.

During the raid, the militants opened fire at police in which a policeman got injured.

In retaliatory attack, the law enforcers killed three militants and injured five others, said the report.

After being cornered by the police, one militant reportedly blew up his explosive jacket, killing himself.

The injured terrorists were arrested and shifted to some unidentified location.

Police also recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition including suicide jackets from the hideout of the militants, after killing them.

Identities of the militants and their organization have not been revealed by the police yet. Endi
