Saudi soldier killed in rocket attack from Yemen

Xinhua, June 28, 2015 Adjust font size:

A Saudi soldier was killed and another wounded in a rocket attack by Houthis on the kingdom's border with Yemen, local news channel Al Arabiya reported on Sunday.

The on-duty personnel were attacked at 9 a.m. local time (0600 GMT) on Saturday in the border city Jazan by military shells from Yemen, the report quoted Saudi Security Spokesman Major-General Mansoor Al Turki as saying.

Earlier in the week, the kingdom announced the death of three soldiers in two separate attacks in Jizan and Asir.

On June 22, Saudi Arabia announced the death of the United Arab Emirates commissioned officer in a conflict with Houthi militia in Najran.

Dozens of deaths have been reported among soldiers and civilians living in border cities by Houthi attacks since the beginning of war on Yemen on March 26.

Saudi-led coalition has been fighting Houthis for months without any sign to end this war, especially after the failure of talks among Yemeni political party in Geneva. Endit
