U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry joined the Iranian nuclear talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius here on Saturday as the June 30 deadline is looming.

ARISH, Egypt -- At least 11 extremists were killed and four suspects were arrested on Saturday during security raids on their hideouts south in Rafah and Sheikh Zuweid cities of Egypt's North Sinai province, security sources in the peninsula told Xinhua.

"The raid also destroyed three buildings and seven motorbikes used by the militants, and seized three wireless devices for remote explosion, 12 cylinders designed as explosive devices and a bulletproof vest," said the sources, adding that the raid also destroyed the opening of a cross-border smuggling tunnel at Rafah border area. KUWAIT CITY -- Kuwaiti security forces on Tuesday arrested the owner of the car that carried the suicide bomber who blew himself up near a Muslim Shiite mosque in the Kuwaiti capital on Friday, official KUNA news agency reported.

The Interior Ministry said in a statement that security bodies have found the car used in the attack that targeted Imam Sadiq Mosque, leaving 27 people dead and 227 others injured.

The ministry added that the owner of the car was nabbed for investigations, and that a manhunt is underway to arrest the driver who took the bomber to the mosque. (Kuwait-Bombing-Arrest)

ATHENS -- Greece's parliament started on Saturday noon an emergency debate on the government's surprise call for a July 5 referendum on the debt deal international creditors put on the table in a bid to avert a Greek default and possible Grexit in coming weeks.

After a dramatic twist and a televised address by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras in the early hours of Saturday, lawmakers convened to vote around midnight amidst strong mixed reactions nationwide and mounting fears of a possible imposition of capital controls and a credit event within the next few days. KUNDUZ, Afghanistan -- About 19 militants were killed after Afghan security forces carried out an airstrike in northern Afghanistan's Kunduz province overnight Friday, provincial police spokesman said on Saturday.

"The Afghan air forces conducted a raid on militants' hideouts in Ali Abad district midnight, killing 19 militants, including five foreign fighters," spokesman Sarwar Hussainee told Xinhua. (Afghanistan-Airstrike-Militants) Endi
