Bangladesh condemns terrorist attacks in Europe, Middle East

Xinhua, June 28, 2015 Adjust font size:

Bangladesh on Saturday strongly condemned the terrorist attacks which occurred in Europe and the Middle East, and expressed its firm determination to continue working with world community to fight terrorism.

Bangladeshi Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali on Saturday issued separate messages expressing deep condolences and sympathies to the victims in the attacks.

"I'm shocked to learn about the cowardly terrorist attack on a gas factory near the city of Lyon in France resulting in beheading of a person and an explosion," he said in a message to his French counterpart Laurent Fabius.

The terrorist attack only justifies joining hands together with greater strength to fight this absolutely violent insanity against human civilization, the foreign minister said.

In a separate message to Kuwaiti First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al- Sabah, Bangladeshi foreign minister said it is a matter of great concern and worry that 27 people were killed and 277 wounded when a suicide bomber attacked a mosque in Kuwait City on Friday.

"At this point, I would like to stress that any such terrorist activity is a blow against peace, humanity and all religious values," he said.

Bangladeshi foreign minister reiterated that Bangladesh denounces terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, and reaffirmed that the country has been following and will continue to follow a "zero tolerance" policy towards terrorism. Endi
