Czech Foreign Minister Lubomir Zaoralek approved on Friday the provision of 4.1 million crowns (about 168,000 U.S. dollars) for humanitarian aid to Syrian refugees in Lebanon.

According to the Czech Foreign Ministry in a press release, the aid will go to two education and health care projects.

The Czech Foreign Ministry said that in cooperation with a local non-profit partner, the equipping of 22 public schools in the city and region of Tripoli will be completed. The schools secure the education of Syrian children in shifts.

The money set aside for health care will be used to purchase equipment for a public hospital in which Syrian refugees can be treated for free.

So far, the Czech Republic has provided 7.5 million crowns to aid the internally displaced inhabitants of Syria and to Syrian refugees in Jordan. ( 1 U.S. dollar = 24.297 crowns) Endit
