Mideast states condemn catastrophic terror attack in Tunisia

Mideast countries including Morocco, Jordan, Lebanon, UAE and Bahrain on Friday strongly condemned terror attack on Tunisia's Sousse hotel, which killed 37, in addition to 36 injured.
The city of Sousse, 140 km south of capital Tunis, is one of the most prominent touristic destinations in the country. Since the revolution, there was one terrorist attempt outside a hotel in the region.
"The Kingdom of Morocco expresses its solidarity with the sister nation of Tunisia, extends its heartfelt condolences and sincere compassion to the victims' families, and wishes swift recovery for the injured," Morocco's foreign affairs ministry said in a statement.
"We condemn all type of violence and the killing of civilians," Jordan's Minister of State for Media Affairs Mohammad Momani said.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) foreign minister Sheikh Abdallah Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan said "the heinous crime and of places of worship represents a brutal escalation of extremist groups wearing the mantle of religion to justify their barbaric acts."
The North African nation has been frequently battered by militant attacks. In March, two Tunisians returning from Libya killed 22 people in terror attack at the National Bardo Museum. Endit
