Xinhua, June 26, 2015 Adjust font size:

The monsoon has arrived in India, some 20 days before schedule, the weather department said Friday.

Rains were reported from the western state of Rajasthan this morning, and now the monsoon has covered the entire country, Indian Meteorological Department official B.P. Yadav told the media.

The monsoon was earlier predicted to hit all over India by July 15.

The weather department has predicted moderate to heavy rainfall in the southern Indian states of Karnataka and Kerala, and the northeastern states of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Mizoram. Endi
