Emirates A-380 makes emergency landing in Sri Lanka

Xinhua, June 26, 2015 Adjust font size:

An A-380 passenger plane of the Emirates Airline with more than 500 people aboard made an emergency landing at Sri Lanka's Bandaranaike International Airport on Friday due to a technical failure, an official said.

A Spokesperson from the airport said the Emirates flight had been flying from Sydney to Dubai but had to make an emergency landing in Colombo at 3:45 a.m. local time (2215 GMT Thursday).

The passengers of the plane, who have been taken to nearby hotels, are expected to fly to Dubai onboard other flights.

The Emirates Airline said it is addressing the technical fault. Endi
