LME base metals slip on Greek impasse

The base metals prices on the London Metal Exchange (LME) dropped on Thursday as the negotiations between international creditors and Greek government made no deal.

Top-level negotiations between Greece's prime minister and international lenders ended earlier without a deal.

Traders were struggling in this atmosphere and the mood was depressed in the LME market.

In the metals, the three-month unofficial copper price dropped 66 U.S. dollars, or 1.13 percent, to 5,750 U.S. dollars per tonne.

In other metals, the three-month unofficial aluminium price lost 0.5 U.S. dollars, or 0.03 percent, to 1,724.5 U.S. dollars a tonne. The three-month unofficial lead price lost 10 U.S. dollars, or 0.55% percent, to 1,795 U.S. dollars a tonne.

Meanwhile, the three-month unofficial zinc price lost 7 U.S. dollars, or 0.34 percent, to 2,047 U.S. dollars a tonne. The three-month unofficial nickel price lost 100 U.S. dollars, or 0.79 percent, to 12,637.5 U.S. dollars a tonne. The three-month unofficial tin price lost 337.5 U.S. dollars, or 2.21 percent, to 14,937.5 U.S. dollars a tonne. Endit
