Tokyo shares end lower on Greek woes

Xinhua, June 25, 2015 Adjust font size:

Tokyo shares ended the trading Thursday lower as concerns over a possible Greek default shadowed the market here, while selling offset buying following moves of cashing in recent gains after the benchmark Nikkei index hit a 18- year high in the previous day.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 96.63 points, or 0.46 percent, from Wednesday to 20,771.40.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 8.98 points, or 0.53 percent, at 1, 670.91.

Decliners were led by rubber products, utilities, and pulp and paper issues.

The turnover was about 2,349.1 billion yen (about 19.00 billion U.S. dollars). Endi
