Modi launches housing for all, smart cities schemes in India

Xinhua, June 25, 2015 Adjust font size:

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi Thursday launched three ambitious schemes, including developing smart cities and housing for all.

"Every person dreams of having his or her own home. It is not just about a roof and four walls, it is much beyond that. Owning a home is very important, it results in self motivation. A poor man buys a house it gives him dreams, hopes," Modi said at a function in the national capital.

"Go to any city, there are hardly any cities where you will find a concrete plan of how the city would be after five or 10 years. It is our duty to fulfill those dreams that millions have entrusted us to make possible. We will work for it."

Housing for all is the Indian government's flagship program that aims at providing a house for all Indians. Endi
