Israeli war jets fire back in retaliation to rocket fire from Gaza

Israeli war jets struck northern Gaza Strip early Wednesday in response to rockets launched earlier from the coastal enclave into southern Israel, witnesses said. No casualties were reported.

Residents in the northern Gaza town of Beit Hanoun said Israeli war jets hovered over the area and fired one missile at an open area in the town.

The Israeli airstrike was a response to two rockets fired from northern Gaza Strip into Israel. The rockets landed in southern Israel, causing no injuries or damage.

On June 7, Israeli war jets carried out a series of airstrikes on Hamas military training facilities after the group fired rockets into Israel. No injuries or damages were reported on both sides.

Israel and Hamas reached a ceasefire deal brokered by Egypt on Aug. 26 last year, ending 50 days of fighting which killed about 2,145 Palestinians and 70 Israelis. Endi
