Benfica eye move for Brazilian right-back

Xinhua, June 24, 2015 Adjust font size:

Benfica are considering a move to sign highly rated Brazilian right-back Mayke, according to media reports.

The 22-year-old has impressed the Portuguese club while playing for Cruzeiro, winners of the past two Brazilian Serie A titles.

According to Brazilian football news portal Sambafoot, Benfica are also interested in CSKA Moscow and Brazil international defender Mario Fernandes.

Mayke has played 102 matches for Cruzeiro since joining the club from feeder outfit Siderurgica in 2010.

Benfica's current first choice right-back is Uruguay international Maxi Pereira, who has been linked with a summer move to Stoke City or Galatasaray. Endi
