Revenues in German manufacturing to rise in 2015: Ifo survey

Xinhua, June 22, 2015 Adjust font size:

German industry looks set to earn more this year than in 2014, results of a survey by the German think tank Ifo institute show here on Monday.

Manufacturers are currently more satisfied with their income situation than last year, measured by profit from ordinary activities, according to the survey, based on results from thousands of manufacturers on their revenue situation twice a year.

The corresponding index is currently at 107.2 points, versus an annual average of 105.9 points in 2014, while the long-term average since the launch of the survey in 2002 is 100.5 points.

"The situation looks set to improve somewhat further in 2015," according to Harald Schultz, spokesperson of Ifo.

The Ifo business climate index is considered the most important barometer for the German economy. Endit
