Tokyo shares skyrocketed by ending the trading Monday as sentiment here was boosted by hopes that negotiators may still have a chance to avoid a possible Greek default.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average jumped 253.95 points, or 1. 26 percent, higher from Friday to 20,428.19.

MANILA, June 22 (Xinhua) -- Philippine shares closed 0.11 percent higher on Monday.
The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index increased by 7.97 points to 7609.14. The all-share index went up by 9.13 points, or 0.21 percent, to 4360.52.
Trading volume reached 530.14 million shares worth 5.44 billion pesos ( 120.86 million U.S. dollars).

HONG KONG -- Hong Kong stocks closed up 320.32 points, or 1.2 percent, to 27,080.85 points on Monday.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 26,811.66 and 27, 166.52. Turnover totaled 90.58 billion HK dollars (about 11.67 billion U.S. dollars).

SINGAPORE -- Singapore stocks finished higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 14.17 points, or 0.43 percent, to close at 3,315.13.

HANOI -- Stock market index of Vietnam's capital Hanoi, HNX- Index, closed at 87.09 points on Monday, down 0.01 points, or 0.01 percent, against the previous closing session.
