2 police killed in N. Afghan blast

Xinhua, June 22, 2015 Adjust font size:

Two police personnel were killed in a bomb attack in northern Afghanistan's province of Baghlan on Monday, provincial police spokesman said.

"A roadside bomb struck a police vehicle in Hazhdar Kotal, an area in the suburb of provincial capital Pul-e-Khumri at around midday, causing two police aboard the vehicle killed," spokesman Jawid Basharat told Xinhua.

The police van was destroyed by the blast, the source said.

The Afghan soldiers and police casualties have risen recently as the United States and NATO troops in Afghanistan have switched from combat to support role since January 1 this year. Endi
