The Nigerian Army reiterated on Tuesday its determination to continue its ongoing war against the Boko Haram insurgency in the northeastern part of the country.
The West African country's Chief of Defense Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, made the remarks in Abuja, the nation's capital city, when he hosted the coalition of civil society groups.
The military chief told his audience that the armed forces were very busy fighting the war that would keep Nigeria united.
He said several communities disrupted by the insurgency had been restored to where they were, adding that it was what the armed forces wanted to achieve.
"We can guarantee you that there is no amount of distraction that can stop us from having a secure Nigeria," he added.

More than 13,000 people, including women and children, have been killed as the group seeks to enshrine the Islamic Sharia law in the most populous African country.
