Australia beats Nigeria 2-0 in women's World Cup

Xinhua, June 13, 2015 Adjust font size:

Kyah Simon scored twice to lift Australia over the African Falcon Nigeria 2-0 at the Women's World Cup in Canada on Friday.

Following an opening 3-1 defeat to the United States, Australia recorded its first win in Group D as the 23-year-old Simon found the net at the 29th and 68th minutes.

Nigeria, however, failed to show their "falcon style" of a 3-3 draw in its first match against Sweden.

Australia's next opponent will be Sweden while Nigeria face the United States on Tuesday. Endi
