Tokyo shares open mixed on gains cash-in

Tokyo shares opened mixed Friday as moves of gains cash-in after previous day's surge offset sentiment triggered by overnight upbeat U.S. market.

At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average inched up 10. 31 points, or 0.05 percent, from Thursday to 20,393.28.

On the contrary, the broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 0.09 points, or 0.01 percent, to 1,648.79. Endi
