China treasury bond futures open mixed Thursday

Xinhua, June 11, 2015 Adjust font size:

China's five-year treasury bond futures opened mixed on Thursday, with contract for settlement in June 2015 opening at 96.7 yuan (15.81 U.S. dollars), up 0.1 yuan.

The contract for settlement in September 2015, the most actively traded, opened 0.1 yuan lower at 96.2 yuan, and the December contract also opened 0.1 yuan lower at 98.2 yuan.

The contracts are agreements to buy or sell treasury bonds at a predetermined price and set date. They allow investors to bet on or profit from the movements in the value of the bonds.

The treasury bond futures were launched at the Shanghai-based China Financial Futures Exchange and started trading on Sept. 6, 2013. Endi
