A majority in Norway's parliament agreed on Wednesday that the Nordic country would accept 8,000 refugees from Syria by the end of 2017, the NTB news agency reported.

Most of the political parties in parliament, including the Labour Party, the largest one, and the Conservative Party, which leads the current minority coalition government, have agreed on how Norway should increase its humanitarian efforts for Syria and surrounding areas.

DUBLIN -- Irish police said on Wednesday they had arrested 60 people in Dublin, Cork and Wexford cities as part of a probe into drug dealing.

Police said those arrested have been charged with over 200 drugs offenses in the past 48 hours, adding that searches were carried out at 50 homes. (Ireland-Drugs Probe)

WARSAW -- Polish Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz announced the resignation of three ministers of her government, Bartosz Arlukowicz from the Ministry of Health, Wlodzimierz Karpinski from the Ministry of Finance, and Andrzej Biernat from Ministry of Sport and Tourism.

WASHINGTON -- U.S. Vice President Joe Biden said that the West would impose more sanctions on Russia if the latter does not fully implement the Minsk agreements, the White House said in a statement on Wednesday.

The United States and its G-7 allies stand ready to impose significant additional sanctions if necessary to respond to Russia 's actions, Biden said during a meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk in the White House. (US-Russia-Sanctions)

SEOUL -- The number of South Koreans diagnosed with the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) rose to 122 since the first case was discovered on May 20, the health ministry said Thursday.

Fourteen new cases were added Thursday, including a 39-year-old pregnant woman, according to the Ministry of Health and Welfare. The pregnant woman has been in stable conditions. (South Korea-MERS) Endi
