Germany's benchmark DAX index advances

The benchmark DAX index at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Wednesday advanced markedly by 264.1 points and closed at 11,265.39 points.

Rumors that German Chancellor Angela Merkel's view about Greece's reform plan could go softer drove the blue-chip index up by 2.4 percent.

All the 30 DAX member shares ended the trading day with gains in the rally. HeidelbergCement AG rose by 4.85 percent. Bayer AG gained 4.39 percent. LANXESS AG, a leading specialty chemicals company, climbed by 3.75 percent. Deutsche Post AG advanced by 3.71 percent and Daimler AG went up by 3.29 percent.

The turnover stood at 4.58 billion euros (around 5.17 billion U.S. dollars ). Bayer AG was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 395.3 million euros (around 445.95 million U.S. dollars). Endite
