Polish PM announces resignation of three ministers

Xinhua, June 11, 2015 Adjust font size:

Polish Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz announced the resignation of three ministers of her government, Bartosz Arlukowicz from the Ministry of Health, Wlodzimierz Karpinski from the Ministry of Finance, and Andrzej Biernat from Ministry of Sport and Tourism.

The vice-ministers from the relevant departments also asked for their dismissal.

Kopacz said, "I talked to people, who were eavesdropped (in 2014 and whose recording were made public last year). We all came to the conclusion that we cannot wait any more."

In the light of the upcoming Polish parliamentary elections in Fall 2015, Kopacz added "I will not allow anyone to use these tapes against Civic Platform."

Apart from the ministers and vice-ministers, for dismissal asked the Chief Advisor to the PM, Jacek Rostowski and Jacek Cichocki, the Coordinator of the Special Forces.

At the press conference on Wednesday Kopacz said that Chichocki had taken the responsibility for the inadequate and ineffective work of the special forces. Endit
