Tokyo stocks dive to 3-week low on concerns over Japanese economy

Tokyo stocks dived to a three-week low Tuesday on concerns over Japanese domestic economic recovery.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was down 360.89 points, or 1. 76 percent, from Monday at 20,096.30, the lowest closing level since May 19.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange lost 27.62 points, or 1.66 percent, lower at 1,634.37.

Decliners were led by insurance, rubber products and nonferrous metals.

The turnover was 2,662.75 billion yen (about 21.38 billion U.S. dollars). Endi
