Xinhua, June 8, 2015 Adjust font size:

Paris-based Europe's leading airline Air France-KLM reported on Monday a jump in May passenger traffic thanks to the dynamic Latin American market.

The French major airline Air France-KLM saw the group's total passenger traffic rose by 3.2 percent compared to May 2014, the group said in a statement posted on its website.

Flights to and from the Latin American destinations showed the strongest performance with 5.4 percent jump to 2.4 billion euros (2.67 billion U.S. dollars).

Traffic of Africa and Middle East networks lost 0.9 percent due to violent unrest in several countries in the region, it added.

Passenger segment activity gained 0.7 point in load factor to 84.8 percent.

Fewer frequencies pulled down the group's cargo traffic by 12 percent to 741 million euros in May. The load factor was at 59.4 percent, down 4.8 percent from the same month last year (1 euro = 1.113 U.S. dollars) Endit
