GAC-Honda to recall 106,722 vehicles over faulty airbag

Xinhua, June 5, 2015 Adjust font size:

GAC-Honda, the joint venture between Honda and Guangzhou Automobile Group, will recall 106,722 vehicles due to defective airbags, China's top quality supervisor announced on Friday.

The affected vehicles include the 2008 and 2009 Fit, 2008 City and 2009 City, which were manufactured between Jan. 2, 2008 and Dec. 30, 2008, said the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ).

A fault with some of the airbags could occur when they expand, causing the gas generators to break, and posing safety risks to drivers and passengers, said AQSIQ.

The automaker will repair the faulty components free of charge. The recall starts from July 13. Endi
