Uganda maintains 71st place in FIFA rankings

The East and Central African Football Association (Cecafa) giants Uganda have maintained their 71st place in the latest FIFA ranking released on Thursday.
"We are happy that we have maintained our position out of the 209 member countries," said Uganda Cranes Coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic who added that they have big games ahead that could determine a better position.
The Uganda Cranes are currently training ahead of a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier against Botswana on June 13. Before the qualifier, they will host Gambia on June 9 in an International friendly.
According to the rankings released by FIFA, Uganda has 504 points, an improvement from last month' s 485 points. Being 71st, Uganda remains the best ranked East African country.
Rwanda, losers 4-1 on aggregate to Uganda's U-23 side in the 2016 Olympic Games/2015 CAF U-23 Championship qualifiers, dropped to 94th place. In the Cecafa region Ethiopia are 99 with 324 points. Sudan 108 (292 points), Kenya is 123 (220 points).
Eritrea, Somalia and Djibouti are the lowest ranked Cecafa regional teams in 204, 206 and 207 positions respectively.
World champions Germany (1,775.04 points) maintained their grip at the summit, while Belgium displaced Argentina for second place. Endi
