Brunei's Sultan sends condolences to Chinese leaders over vessel tragedy

Brunei's Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah has sent messages of condolences to Chinese President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Keqiang, as well as the government and people of the People's Republic of China following the recent sinking of a passenger vessel in China's Hubei province, the state-run Radio Television Brunei (RTB) reported on Wednesday.

In the message to President Xi Jinping, the Sultan expressed his deep regret upon learning of the loss of life caused by the sinking of a passenger vessel in Hubei province. On behalf of his government and the people of Brunei Darussalam, the Sultan extended his deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the people and the Chinese government, especially to the families affected by this tragedy.

Meanwhile, in the message to Premier Li Keqiang, the Sultan stated that he was saddened to hear of the loss of life following the sinking of a passenger ship in Hubei province. His government and the people of Brunei Darussalam join him in expressing their deepest condolences to the people and the government of China, especially to the bereaved families of the victims.
