Tokyo shares end lower on stronger yen, profit-taking

Xinhua, June 3, 2015 Adjust font size:

Tokyo shares ended lower Wednesday as investors sought to lock in recent gains after rallies and a stronger yen also weighed on export-oriented issues.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 69.68 points, or 0.34 percent, from Tuesday at 20,473.51.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 4.22 points, or 0.25 percent, to 1, 669.99.

Decliners were led by rubber products, real estate and food issues.

The turnover was about 2,559.3 billion yen (about 20.64 billion U.S. dollars). Endi
