Dutch national among dead in Nepal helicopter crash

A Dutch woman has been confirmed dead in a helicopter crash in the quake-hit Sindhupalchowk district of northern Nepal.

"A female Dutch national Jessica is one of the deceased in the crash," Birendra Bahadur Shrestha, general manager of Tribhuwan International Airport, told Xinhua,

It reported that the helicopter 9N-AJP on a relief mission crashed in a forested area after hitting a power line.

Captain Subek Shrestha was flying the aircraft from operator Mountain Helicopters Nepal. However, two other charred bodies recovered from the site were not identified.

The bodies have been brought to Tribhuwan University Teaching Hospital of Kathmandu for post mortem.

It is the second helicopter crash after a massive 7.9-magnitude earthquake that jolted the Himalayan nation on April 25, killing more than 8,600 people.
