Afghan police shot dead 2 would-be suicide bombers

Police in the eastern Paktika province shot dead two would-be suicide bombers on Monday, Interior Ministry said in a statement released here Tuesday.

"Afghan National Police had killed two suicide bombers who had attempted to storm a police check post in the Ashpano Qala village, Sharana city the capital of Paktika province, last night," the statement said.

No police personnel and civilians were harmed during the operations, the statement asserted.

Taliban militants who are largely relying on suicide and roadside bombings haven't made comment. Endi
