Singapore stocks close 1.51 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 51. 36 points, or 1.51 percent, to close at 3,340.75.

A total of 1.52 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1. 75 billion Singapore dollars (1.31 billion U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 340 to 135, while 485 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 25.66 points, or 0.75 percent, to close at 3, 392.11 on Friday. Endi
