The National Park Service said on Monday that the Washington Monument was closed for the second time in a week after another power failure.

The monument was closed Monday morning after its elevator lost power around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to the agency, adding that no one was on board the elevator when the power failure occurred.

The symbolic building would not be reopened till at least Thursday

The monument was closed on Thursday and Friday last week after an electrical problem caused a power failure on Wednesday night. Endi
