Bulgarian capital celebrates Children's Day with free workshops

Xinhua, June 1, 2015 Adjust font size:

Bulgarian children here on Monday enjoyed Children's Day by participating in artistic workshops, sports events, visiting museums and riding in a submarine.

In a park in front of the National Theatre "Ivan Vazov," dozens of children dressed in full gear climbed into fire trucks and interacted with firemen.

While sitting in the driver's cabin, nine-year-old Alexander Kanev told Xinhua that it was very nice and fun. "When I grow up, I want to be a fireman," he said.

Other children danced on stage or painted with watercolors on a wall covered with white paper.

Several children, under the guidance of a professional coach, received football lessons.

In the National Museum of Natural History nearby, a young man wearing a sailor hat welcomed children to "travel" with a yellow submarine.

Inside, in the five meters long vessel, children watched a movie filmed underwater.

Eight-year-old Todor Nikolaev told Xinhua that he boarded the "submarine" to search treasures, and managed to catch a coin. Endit
