ILO calls for debate on future of work

Xinhua, June 1, 2015 Adjust font size:

International Labor Organization (ILO) Director-General Guy Ryder on Monday called for a global debate on the future of work during his opening address to the 104th International Labor Conference which opened Monday.

The proposed future of work initiative will be structured around four conversations: work and society, the organization of work and production, decent jobs for all, and the governance of work, Ryder said.

"The issues of jobs, equity, sustainability, human security, labor mobility and social dialogue need to be tackled in a future of work initiative," said Ryder.

About 4,000 government, worker, and employer representatives attended Monday's ILO annual conference in Geneva, which will run until June 13. Endit
