China mulls air route to Bahamas

Xinhua, May 30, 2015 Adjust font size:

China is considering the launch of a flight link with Bahamas, said Li Jiaxiang, director of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, on Saturday.

Li made the remarks after China and Bahamas signed two documents on civil aviation cooperation, saying that China will encourage domestic airlines to open routes to the tourist resort.

More Chinese are choosing to visit Bahamas, where they can stay for 30 days without visa, but there are no domestic carriers operating China-Bahamas service.

"The documents will lay a legal foundation for code-sharing of airlines and direct air route between China and Bahamas," said Li, adding that a future flight will facilitate economic cooperation and people-to-people exchange. Endi
