Uganda' s Golf team off for regional tournament in Malawi

Uganda's Ladies Golf team on Saturday left for the East and Central Africa Regional Challenge trophy that runs June 1-3 in Lilongwe, Malawi.

The national team made up of Eva Magala (playing captain), Flavia Namakula, Irene Namakula and non-playing President of the Uganda Ladies Golf Union, Esther Okullo is handled by national golf coach Amos Kamya.

"We feel confident going into this tournament and believe we can return as winners of this three-day tournament," Namakula said of the team's chances.

This is the fourth edition of the tournament that started in Uganda in 2009 which is held biennially. Tanzania won the first two editions and Zambia made sure they lifted the last trophy.

The tournament attracts countries in the East and Central region which include Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Rwanda, Malawi, Mauritius, Ethiopia, Seychelles and Burundi. Endi
