Xinhua, May 30, 2015 Adjust font size:

Color Race, which is a unique blend of a running event and music festival, was held in the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh on Saturday evening with approximately 5,000 participants, mostly youths.

"The main objectives are to inspire and promote a healthy, active lifestyle for young people in Cambodia while contributing to building a more vibrant city," said a news release by Cambodia- based telecommunication operator Metfone, which hosted the glitzy event.

The news release said the event was also to attract both locals and tourists.

"Color Race is not about the speed that you run but about having fun, and sharing happy moments with your friends and family, " Hoang Trung Thanh, chief executive officer of the Vietnamese- owned Metfone, said.

At the event, participants enjoyed technicolored 2.5-km run, followed by impressive musical entertainment from top singers in Cambodia.

"It is the first time I see such run, which is an interesting event that creates fun over the weekend," said participant Pong Molina, 18, who is a female student at the University of Health and Science. Endi
