The UN Security Council on Friday slammed two attacks against peacekeepers in Mali earlier this week, urging the Malian government to swiftly probe them.
The 15-member UN body said in a statement that it "deplored" the deadly shooting in Bamako, Mali, Monday which killed a Bangladeshi peacekeeper and injured another. (UN-Mali-Attacks)

LAGOS -- The police in restive northeast state of Borno on Friday confirmed the killing of six persons when a suicide bomber attacked the venue of a wedding in Tashan Alade town of the state.
State police chief Aderemi Opadokun, who confirmed casualty figure in Maiduguri, the state capital, said up to 30 people were also injured during the attack. (Nigeria-Suicide Bomb)

ROME -- The Italian navy has found 17 dead migrants onboard a boat off the Libyan coast and rescued another 217 people from the same wreckage, local reports said late on Friday.
The Italian navy reached the boat after an alert was launched by the migrants with a satellite phone, according to ANSA news agency. (Italy-Libya-Migrants)

TEHRAN -- Iran will not discuss inspection of its military sites in ongoing nuclear talks with the world powers, Iran's senior nuclear negotiator Abbas Araqchi said on Friday.
Iranian negotiators are committed to follow the "decisive and serious guideline" of the Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei who recently rejected calls for the inspection of Iran's military sites and interviews with the country's nuclear scientists as part of a final nuclear deal, Araqchi said.
