Japan's industrial output up 1.0 pct in April

Industrial output in April rose a seasonally adjusted 1.0 percent in Japan from the previous month, said the Japanese Industry Ministry on Friday.

The ministry said in a preliminary report said that the index of output at factories and mines stood at 99.1 against the base of 100 in 2010.

The index of industrial shipments gained 0.4 percent to 97.7, while that of inventories was unchanged at 113.4, according to the report. Endi
