China's top legislator Zhang Dejiang met with Jordanian Senate President Abdul Raouf Rawabdeh on Thursday, urging closer parliamentary exchanges between the two countries.

"We are willing to implement the important consensus reached between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Jordanian King Abdullah II, enhance political support for each other and expand cooperation in infrastructure and other areas," said Zhang, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC).

He said the NPC is ready to cement exchanges with the Jordanian Senate and the House of Representatives, to consolidate the political foundation for bilateral ties, and offer legal guarantees for bilateral cooperation.

Rawabdeh said Jordan expects to step up cooperation with China and work together to promote world peace and justice. Endi
