The new pair of giant pandas given by China's central government were delivered to panda pavilion in Seac Pai Van Park on Wednesday after quarantine period on Oscar Farm in Coloane, according to city's Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau press release Wednesday night.
Veterinarians and panda keepers believed that the two giant pandas "Kaikai" and "Xinxin" have adapted to the new environment here after nearly a month-long 24-hour careful observation and physical check through mental health assessment, food intake, and defecation.
The vet declared the end of quarantine saying both of them are in good health on the basis of comprehensive medical examination, noting that no clinical signs of infectious diseases were found.
The panda pair were transported safely to their new home Wednesday in Macao panda pavilion. They are mentally stable after arrival. The keepers will keep track of their situation.
The second panda pair "Kaikai" "Xinxin" given by central government as gift to Macao, arrived in Macao on April 30. They will meet the public on June 1. Giant panda pavilion will set limit for the number of visitors between June 1 to 30. Endi
