Jeonbuk created many chances in the first half, but the veterans of Beijing's defense line was keeping the clean sheet till the 72nd minute. Edu broke the deadlock after receiving the penetrating pass from Lee Jae-Sung, which destroyed Beijing's confidence and led Jeonbuk to the next round.

In the 79th minute, Edu's volley shot in the chaos met the cross-bar and Leonardo made the same thing three minutes later, which made Beijing be passive across the board.
