Thai navy ship visits Vietnam

Xinhua, May 26, 2015 Adjust font size:

The offshore patrol vessel HTMS Narathiwat from the Thai Royal Navy arrived in Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday, starting its six-day visit to the country, Vietnam News Agency reported.

The vessel's head, Rear Admiral Wasan Boonneung, who is deputy director of the Maritime Enforcement Coordinating Center in the First Naval Area, was hosted by local authorities.

Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Tat Thanh Cang said the visit of the Royal Thai Navy's ship would contribute to cementing Vietnam-Thailand ties, which have expanded to such sectors as trade and tourism.

Ho Chi Minh City and Thailand have launched a number of joint activities, particularly in commerce and investment, Cang stated.

The Thai officer expressed his hope that the city will create more favorable conditions for Thai businesses to carry out market research and investment in the southern hub. Endi
