China builds national medical data center

A national medical data center was established in Peking University on Tuesday to contribute to health and medical care through state-of-the-art analysis.

The center was co-founded by the National Health and Family Planning Commission and Peking University to build a health information system that will improve health services and administration.

Peking University has gathered 48 million pieces of clinical data from more than 400 hospitals across the country, said Zhang Jun, head of the university's hospital administration department.p Experts on clinical medicine, information, epidemiology and computer science will work together to process and manage the data to improve the efficiency of medical care, said Zhang.
