Central-level officials receive national defense education

Xinhua, May 26, 2015 Adjust font size:

Twenty-one government officials and principals of state-owned enterprises have completed an education program on national defense, according to military sources on Tuesday.

Previously targeting only local officials, the national defense education program was launched in 2013 by the Organization Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and the General Political Department of the People's Liberation Army (PLA). The latest program covered central officials for the first time, a move approved by Xi Jinping, chairman of the Central Military Commission.

The program covered such topics as state security and development, border and coastal defense and included visits to army and air force bases. Endi
