Johnny Depp leaves Australia over his dogs

Xinhua, May 26, 2015 Adjust font size:

Movie star Johnny Depp left Australia on Monday night amid accusations he could face 10 years in jail for smuggling his two terrier dogs into the country.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star and his wife Amber Heard left the Gold Coast in the evening after a farcical episode following their smuggling in two terrier dogs against Australian quarantine laws.

The dogs were deported but the Australian authorities then threatened further sanctions which included a possible jail term.

A Senate committee was on Tuesday told if the matter proceeded to a court and Depp was found guilty, the actor could face jail time or a maximum fine of 340,000 Australian dollars. Endi
