Afghan president meets S. Korean ambassador

Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on Monday met the South Korean ambassador to the country and discussed a range of issues, including bilateral ties, the Presidential Palace said.

"The President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani received for an introductory meeting the Ambassador of South Korea in Kabul ... Cha Youngcheol and the two sides discussed expansion of bilateral relations," it said in a statement.

The Afghan leader told the ambassador that Afghanistan wants South Korea to share its experiences with Afghanistan in areas of forestry and chemical industries as well, according to the statement.

"Afghanistan has good potentials in generating hydraulic, solar and wind energy and we want to benefit from the experiences of South Korea in these fields as well." Ghani was quoted in the statement as saying. Enditem
