Chinese couple arrested at Lisbon airport on suspicion of money laundering

Portuguese police have seized at Lisbon international airport two cases containing some 1 million euros and 3.5 million Chinese Yuan in cash carried by a Chinese couple, according to Portuguese Lusa News agency on Monday.

The couple, a 47-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, were detained at the airport on suspicion of money laundering and the case is under investigation, police said.

The couple, who have visas to legally live in Portugal, would fly to Shanghai. No further details were immediately available. Endit
